Pierce’s barn
Rich in history and full of character, Pierce’s Barn—known today as The Barn—has been lovingly restored into the heart of every Collits Inn wedding reception.
Pull up a chair at our handcrafted timber tables, enjoy a local craft beer, share a feast and a yarn with your favourite people, and celebrate surrounded by more than 200 years of Australian history.
History
Established in 1823
Established in 1823, Collits’ Inn is the first, and longest-standing building in the Blue Mountains region. Originally known as The Golden Fleece, Collits’ Inn was built by its namesake – former convict and unlikely entrepreneur Pierce Collits. In its first years, the inn served as an important piece of Australian history allowing a place for rest and a touch of home-grown comfort for those making the harrowing journey along the first-ever road from Sydney to Bathurst.
More than 200 years later, that spirit of welcome lives on. Discover the fascinating history behind one of the Blue Mountains’ most treasured landmarks.
