History

Established in 1823

Established in 1823, Collits’ Inn is the first, and longest-standing building in the Blue Mountains region. Originally known as The Golden Fleece, Collits’ Inn was built by its namesake – former convict and unlikely entrepreneur Pierce Collits. In its first years, the inn served as an important piece of Australian history allowing a place for rest and a touch of home-grown comfort for those making the harrowing journey along the first-ever road from Sydney to Bathurst.

My wife and I were lucky enough to find Collits Inn after a neighbour showed us her awesome wedding pictures. From the moment we met with Chris (amazing chef) Cheryl (amazing host) and Caitlin (world's best wedding planner) for lunch, we knew we'd found our place. The food and drinks were absolutely amazing. They went above and beyond to make our day perfect. Chris is a phenomenal chef and he went to extraordinary lengths to look after our vegan and vegetarian guests. Nothing was too much trouble. And the ability to spend the weekend with our bridal party and family made the trip so much more special.
